Accommodations for seniors will be priority for new bonds
The first offering to Albertans investing in the province’s new capital bond initiative will help increase access to accommodations for Alberta’s seniors.
More than 700 seniors housing spaces to be built or upgraded
Hundreds of seniors and persons with disabilities will have a new or upgraded home thanks to a provincial investment of $50 million. The capital grant funding will help build 618 new affordable supportive living and lodge spaces across the province and upgrade another 86 spaces.

Edmonton-Rutherford Community Organizations Receive $336,000 from Province
Two community organizations in southwest Edmonton will benefit from grants awarded under the Government of Alberta’s Community Facilities Enhancement Program. Edmonton-Rutherford MLA Fred Horne presented cheques to the William Lutsky YMCA and the Greenfield Community League at a ceremony on Wednesday, June 24.
Albertans are invited to take part in a series of conversations about the future of education in Alberta. Joined by a group of Grade 6 students at Grandin School in Edmonton, Education Minister Dave Hancock announced 10 community conversations with Albertans in eight different locations across the province in April, May and June.
Mr. Horne was elected to his second term as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Edmonton-Rutherford on April 23, 2012, and currently serves as Minister of Health.
